Have you seen the Capital One commercial…what’s in your wallet? When many hear this, they immediately go to material things such as money, houses, cars, jewelry, etc. These very things can be taken away at the blink of an eye! With all that has happened this year, some are sad, depressed, anxious, have suffered loss, lonely and/or alone. Their joy has gone away! Let us hope and pray these feelings are only temporary! But we are in the season of being merry, merry and happy, happy!!! What the what??? Let us, my brothers and sisters, extend beyond ourselves to be the light and shine joy! Yes this is the season for spreading glad tidings of great joy! It may be a text to an old friend or co-worker, a call to someone who is unable to get out, a card, a handwritten note, a drive by or a small token of love. Maybe it is a time for a self care joy such as a stroll in the park, a good book, a good movie, a good workout. Many things bring joy and it is different for each of us! Remember it is not the big things but the small things! Just be there for others, everyone deserves to experience the sweetness of joy! Spread the joy!
Many things bring me joy! I’m back to writing! Writing allows me to relax, release and reflect. I’m so very blessed and it’s one of the thing that inspired my blog! I’m able to write because many paved the way before me. I learn from many sources and mentors and it is my prayer that likewise some can glean from me as they grow. I hope my writing will help someone along the way and bring a ray of joy! There are many depictions of joy! Many coming in the form of music. One of my favorite movies in the holiday season is the Preacher’s Wife. Here are a couple of tracks from the movie which bring me joy…Joy to the World and Joy. Yes, there is joy in my soul…singing and shouting! How about you?
As you know this is #StuffValSaid, but what are you going to do? Where do you find your joy? How will help to create joy? What brings you joy? How will you be intentional to share joy with others? Here are a few things I would like to suggest:
• Joy – be glad
• Happiness– be content
• Rejoice – be delighted
• Wonder – be filled with admiration
• Cheer – be encouraging
