Hebrews 11:1 The Message
The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It's our handle on what we can't see.
Night has fallen and all is still! There is peace in the quiet! The noise and hustle bustle of the day has diminished! It is well! No, not really! My soul is on fire! I find myself frustrated with the system, angry, and just had enough by what I see and hear! Why??? There is so much going on! Though I cannot help everyone, I want to. Every time I look at or read the news it is something! I say to myself what in the what is going on! I know God loves us! I know HE wants the best for us! What is God telling us? Can we be still to hear HIM? I find what is going on in our country from Texas to the east and west coasts and everywhere in between is troubling and heartbreaking! Be it the loss of lives from violence or the coronavirus, those without out food, shelter, or clothes to wear, bad theology being spread in our churches, vaccine distribution in the marginalized communities, education disparities, and the list goes on! We must be listening and trying to put ourselves in the other person’s place! Where is your rage? The rage which has desire and passion to help God’s people who are suffering, in pain, and grieving that is. Rage can be a mobilizer! God’s people are hurting! I find myself always praying and being hopeful as God will never leave us or forsake us! Are you finding it difficult to hold on to hope?
I’m holding on to hope to see us through! Hope as defined by Dictionary.com, a verb, is to believe, desire, or trust. We must - my brothers and sisters - hope and pray for better for God’s people. The treatment of our people who are living without water, food, and power is absolutely appalling especially as described in the media accounts in Texas. A personal account shared with me from a resident of Dallas was I-35 was like the Delmar Divide. As people are suffering, one side of the highway the lights shined brightly while on the other side there was total darkness. But there is God’s light! The light which will provide hope for all in distress! We must lean on “the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living” from the scripture.
Help is on the way! As many be wondering why now, why not now I ask? The light is revealing the years of disinvestment! God will come right on time! God’s light will shine love, compassion, hope, strength, care, concern, and much more! There is strength in the struggle!
As you know this is #StuffValSaid, but what do you say? What are you hoping for? Where is you rage and for what? How will hope move you to action? Here are a few things to consider:
• Pray – to give thanks and praise
• Believe – to have confidence
• Concern – to care for and about
• Trust – to hold fast
• Faith – to stand in conviction
"Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: You don't give up." -Anne Lamott
