Psalm 119:105 The Message “By your words I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.”
How are you my brothers and sisters? I’m still singing of love from my heart. I had the best weekend! I worked in the yard and relaxed and released! I love yard work! It is something about working God’s land! I mulched...I pulled out a rose bush that was as old as me while weeding, and planting! It was steamy, hot, and sunny! It did my body, mind, and spirit so much good to soak it all up! Can’t wait to see what God’s light and water will produce through growth! When is the last time you did something that you absolutely loved doing without a care in the world? Don't you think it's time!?!?
A crucial part of the planting is sun and light. God’s sunshine causes things to grow. The sunlight is not only good for the plants but also good for YOU! Light is a symbol of God, faith, and holiness. We are to walk in the light, but also be a light for others. Are you a light? Are you growing or helping others to grow? We are in the season of graduation! The graduates are our light for what is good! They are our signs of hope and what is and will be wise and good!
Amanda Gorman’s Inaugural poem “The Hill We Climb” delivers a message of unity. There are so many signs of symbolism in the poem. As the poem begins, the question is asked “When day comes we ask ourselves, where can we find light in this never-ending shade, the loss we carry a sea we must wade?” We must come together and work to create opportunities and overcome challenges that too often stand in the way of equity and access for all! As the poem closes, Ms. Gorman gives us hope on how to find the light:
“When day comes we step out of the shade, aflame and unafraid. The new dawn blooms as we free it. For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it, if only we’re brave enough to be it.”
My brothers and sisters be the light in all you do! Matthew 5:16 The Message says it best: “Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand - shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”
As you know this is #StuffValSaid, but what do you say? What are you doing to be the light? How has light brought you out of darkness? Are you sharing and spreading love through light?
Live, laugh, and love! “The darkness of night cannot stop the light of morning.” - African Proverb As said in Swahili, Ashay…” Be with us!!!” I love and honor you!!! Ubuntu “I am, because you are.”
