Hold On!!!

Updated: Feb 9, 2021

Psalm 31:23-24 The Message Love God, all you saints; God takes care of all who stay close to him, But he pays back in full those arrogant enough to go it alone. Be brave. Be strong. Don’t give up. Expect God to get here soon.

Resilience, a noun as defined by Dictionary.com is the ability of a system or organization to respond to or recover readily from a crisis, disruptive process, etc. As I have been posting Black history facts, I find a recurring theme…we are resilient, we are conquerors, we are people of great strength and courage! We have been through a lot! “We are powerful because we have survived, and that is what it is all about- survival and growth.” Audre Lorde We hold our heads up and keep moving forward no matter what! Why? Because we believe in GOD, know where we have been and know where we need to go!

God told us we would have tough times, but He also reminded us He would always be with us. If He’s always with us, then He will help us. I want to encourage you to Be brave. Be strong. Don’t give up. Be strong in God and seek peace by keeping your mind on Him. We must stop dwelling on the bad. It is what it is! Let us have compassion and understanding! We look past our troubles, muster up courage, and put our mind on God. And through the storms we continue to serve the Lord and honor His name. Many are looking and wonder how we can still serve God joyfully after all the trials. It is because love never gives up. God never gives up on us and we are to never give up on God.

There are so many songs on resiliency and always a song in my spirit! One of my favorites is the Negro Spiritual written by Solomon Burke “I Want Jesus to Walk With Me.”

I want Jesus to walk with me

I want Jesus to walk with me

All along my pilgrim journey

I want Jesus to walk with me

In my trial, Lord, walk with me

In my trials, Lord, walk with me

When the shades of life are falling

Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me…

As you know this is #StuffValSaid, but what do you say? Are you moving/pushing through? Are you walking and talking with God? Are you going to create the strength needed to weather the storm? Here are a few things to consider:

· Courage – to be fearless

· Persevere – to move through

· Purpose – to have meaning

· Spirit – to have quenchless zeal

Let us think of the Tuskegee Airman and a quote displayed under their picture on a posture “The ability to recover and prosper when facing adversity requires a strong faith and unwavering sense of purpose.” My prayer for you is to find “your” power! God wants us to be resilient so we can receive the full blessing of the living a life full of joy peace, happiness! We got this! Stand in who you are and whose you are! Humble yourself! Love you!
